The Grit survey

For the fun of it, I took the Grit survey!  This survey measures the VIA character strength of perseverance.

Caution: Laughing is a serious matter

This article is inspired by my experiential session on Laughter Yoga with Avi Liran.  Thanks to Avi’s highly entertaining and energetic session, I have a germ of an idea for my next talk in my free Positive Psychology series.  To date, I have been voted Best Speaker twice out of five speeches!  The two award-winning speeches to date are Tenacious tenacity!!! and Shan’s cockscrew of hope.

After googling for Laughter Yoga, I was in silent mirth when I read that laughing is a serious matter.  What an oxymoron!  Nevertheless, I do agree that laughing is serious, especially when I recall that tickling a person to induce excessive laughing is a form of torture.

Free Positive Psychology series: Shan’s cockscrew of hope (Awarded Best Speaker!)

In a series of ten talks, the fifth in my free Positive Psychology collection is entitled Shan’s cockscrew of hope. In this talk, cockscrew is defined as a series of loops experienced in a rollercoaster ride. What has the cockscrew got to do with me, hope and Positive Psychology? A triad of hope buffers will be suggested as well.

Up close and personal on the “Simply Happy” conference in Singapore

Blogs are now an increasingly simple and easy method of obtaining information up close and personal! That, indeed, makes me tingle with happiness!

On the theme of happiness, I had the privilege of being at the Simply Happy conference (with the compliments of John, Philip and Normala. Thank you!) organised in Singapore by Philip’s Global Leadership Academy. It was a conference with a mitochondria of knowledge-infused speakers! It was indeed a power-packed two days of sharing ideas and research in this field of Psychology.
